Print production edits

i have used the radius too half the effect and brightness as low as it would go to bring out as much definition in the surroundings as i could.

I then added the title reflection edit as if your looking at them through a glass window, i used this because it adds something different to the shot and brings attraction to the surroundings

Print production edits

this is the photo without any edit.

In this edit i have brought down the radius and the brightness to bring out the definition of the main singers face, this is a classic part of the indie rock genre, with a main singer being brought to the front of any advertisement to enhance the bands image and add sex appeal.

i then put the sharpness to full to put emphasis on the main singers face.

Print production edits

I have edited this picture by changing the lighting a bit and adding a soft glow to make sure there is more of a focus on the band, it is also a theme i have stuck with through out my digi pack to represent a back lighting to represent there on stage image, as if there is always a back light behind them because they never get off stage.

Print production edits

I decided to use this image because its a great image of the main guitarist in the band and would look good after editing. I changed the radius, brightness and contract to give off a god like attire, as if he is glowing, but not too much, just subtle.

I decided to add an artistic sketch edit to the photo because i feel it adds a certain aspect to the photo which you don't usually see, an artistic touch, this photo not only represents the cool aspect of the band but also shows off there originality and adds to an indie rock genre aspect.

Album cover draft

I have designed this cover In photoshop by cropping a picture i took of the band in a carpark. I added a white effect and big white writing of the bands name, I have used this effect because it gives them a sort of glow which creates an aeura towards the image of the band.

possible unedited photos for the album cover

I could use this image as it shows the main singer while he is on stage with the band, this picture adds sex appeal as it shows the main singer in in his element, as if its just him and the microphone, with nothing else around him.

possible unedited photo's for the album cover

Reasons i would use this image would be because of the gritty city life feel you get when you look at it, the darker colors at the bottom show the dark place they started in there musical career and it gets lighter as you get higher, as if to say there bigger and better than ever before, looking over the scene they used to be a part of and are now part of a bigger and better, more promising future ahead of them.

possible unedited photo for the album cover

I have chosen this image to use as my album cover because the angle of the shot is a mid angle shot which shows the band walking through a car park which looks stereo-typically British surroundings, with cobbled paths and brick lay'd buildings in the back, all this falls into the indie rock genre.

Artists which have inspired me for my album cover

This is two images from the band "The Strokes", i find these inspirational because in my music video I have gone with the common theme of my band being the main image, with close ups of the artists faces and mid angle shots of the whole band together, using these images i have created a music video which fits with the common criteria of an indie rock genre. With black and white images of bands wearing jeans and different dark colored shirts i have used a very common factor of the Indie rock genre.

Other bands such as "The Libertines" and "The Killers" also use this factor in album covers.

If my band were to play at a festival

This is a picture of the latitude poster in which it includes a  list of the bands playing at latitude the current year, the green color of the poster shows the general mood of the festival, mellow and naturalistic. I think this would be good for Ask Lydia as there music is common to a few of the others bands on this page such as  The Maccabees and Empire of the   Sun.
If my band were to play at a festival it would be Latitude, I have been to Latitude and got a brief idea of the type of band that would play there and i feel Ask Lydia would fall into that category. Latitude is known for getting new up and coming bands and the festival itself has a very indie feel, with many of the crowd's across the festival are dressed in very stereotypical indie clothing including indie pop and indie rock. Latitude is a fairly mellow festival with most of the performances being from bands who perform in a rock style way with a mellow and chilled out feel among'st  the whole festival, which is the sort of vibe Ask Lydia give across to there audience.
